A Day at Olympic Park

For all those adrenaline junkies and people looking for a fun thrill, we have the place for you! Utah Olympic Park was built for the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games, and is located about 25 miles east of Salt Lake City. There is still a ton of excitement surrounding the park since its Olympic Winter Games hosting gig just over 20 years ago. You can find a breakdown of Olympic Park activities and events you can take part in below!

Snowy mountain ridges with trees and blue sky

This nearly 400-acre venue houses one of only four sliding tracks in North America, six Nordic ski jumps, a 2002 Winter Games museum, and many more adventure activities!

Olympic Park is best known for athletes training in their winter sports. However, this spot also adjusts to the seasons and provides a lot of the same fun activities in the summer time as well!

Bring the family along for a fun, adventure filled day at Olympic Park! It’s free to visit the museum and walk around the grounds and facilities. If you want to partake in any activities, then you can purchase tickets for that in advance or at the welcome center when you arrive.

Some of the most popular activities include tubing, zip lining, and ropes courses. Tubing is definitely a popular winter activity, which goes through mid-March. You will find the longest tubing lanes in Utah here! With 1200-foot sliding lanes, there is a lot of fun to be had in tubing. Ticket prices vary depending on the day and season, so check the website for purchasing those in advance.

Another great part about tubing is that it can be done year round! Once the winter season and snow are gone, you can enjoy tubing down the lanes with their state-of-the-art plastic surface that slides like snow when wet. You can reach speeds of up to 50 mph for that same fun thrill in the warmer seasons!

For the kids, the ropes courses and zip lining are fun options as well. There is a minimum weight limit of 100 pounds for the zip lining, but the ropes courses only have a minimum weight of 35 pounds which is perfect for the smaller kids! There are 3 different ropes courses that each have a specific difficulty so you can see what is the best fit for your young one. The beginner ropes course is also next to a playground that is climbing based, which is a great warm up for the kiddos!

During the summer season, there is an aerial show that includes current and former Olympic athletes skiing or snowboarding down a plastic lane that mimics snow and landing their jumps into a swimming pool! This helps with practicing their jumps and limiting the danger of a bad landing. These shows start around mid-June and you can purchase tickets to watch that are $15 for adults and $10 for kids ages 3-12.

There is so much fun to be had at Olympic Park in Utah, book your stay at Circle J Club today and enjoy an adventure-filled day nearby!
